5ml salt

Extra:

2ml Rosewater

3ml pink rose food colouring ( powder)

Method

Work with an electric food mixer

Cream butter, margarine and sugar until light and fluffy

Pipe or Roll into shapes and bake ( makes 100 biscuits)

HOW TO SHAPE THE BISCUITS

Take one eighth of the mixture and divide into two.

To the one half add the pink food colouring powder and the rosewater.

Knead to combine the colour and flavour into the dough and chill.

Roll out the plain vanilla piece of the dough to 1.2 cm in thinkness.

Use a round circular cutter to cut the biscuit about 7.5cm in diameter.

Now take a smaller heart shape cutter and cut a heart out of the centre of the plain vanilla biscuit.

Repeat this to form for 4 – 6 biscuits

Now roll out the pink piece of biscuit dough to 1/2cm thickness

Take the heart cutter and cut out 4 – 6 heart shapes.

Fit the pink hearts into the space of the heart shape that was cut out of the vanilla biscuit.

Place onto a baking sheet and bake at 180 degrees Celcius for 15 – 20 minutes until a light golden brown.
